pridex kitchens and the community
At Pridex Kitchens we feel closely connected to the world around us and to the Wellington community in particular. We love to give our support where and when we can. We are proud supporters of:
The following letter we received from KidsCan. It made us cry as we realised once more how fortunate we are, to be able to help out where needed.
Hi Pridex Kitchens, Recently I received a very special message from a Kiwi mum. Her kids were supported by KidsCan when they were younger, and she wanted to share their story. As one of our valued KidsCan donors, I wanted to in turn share her story with you – because it shows what a difference you make for children in need. The mum writes: “KidsCan was my saviour when I had four children at primary school. I had no idea you existed until my girls came home with new shoes and socks. Times were tough and buying four pairs of shoes at the same time was near impossible. Then my girls would tell me that they received extra food throughout their day from KidsCan. I marched down to the school to find out about this ‘KidsCan thing’. The school informed me of your organisation and I think I cried on the spot. You helped us out in such a tough time, I have so much gratitude for you. My girls are now in high school and working, and whenever we can we donate what we can. My girls are forever grateful for everything you have done and continue to do. I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart - we well and truly appreciate it.” Times are tough right now for a lot of families. But with your help, in term 3 we sent out the biggest food distribution in our 15-year history. Your generosity means that kids are going to school with a cosy raincoat and sturdy shoes, and enjoying hot meals on a chilly day. Thanks for being part of our village of caring Kiwis, Julie Chapman KidsCan CEO & Founder |
